Anna Farris is an American author, podcaster, and actress. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland on November 29, 1976, to a special education teacher and a sociology professor. Although born in Baltimore, Anna only lived in this city for six years as her family had to relocate to Edmonds, Washington when she was just six. She ended up being brought up in Washington.

Her first role as an actress came in play danger: Memory! This role lasted three months and took place at the Seattle Repertory Theater. After this job, Faris earned $250. A year after starring in Lovers Lane, Anna got a breakthrough role in Scary Movie. This was her first high-budget film and she got a great deal of experience from it. While in an interview with UK’s The Guardian, Anna Faris made it known that as an actress, she “hadn’t done much before that. With those movies, you have to be so exact with your props and the physical comedy and everything, so it was a great tearing ground”.
In addition to being a great stepping stone for Anna Faris, Scary Movie was a huge success commercially. It grossed $42 million the weekend it was released and went on to get $278 million all around the world. Although taking part in Scary Movie helped Anna gain a lot of experience, it did more than just that. Anna Faris got some nominations for her role in this movie. These nominations were for Best Kiss Award which came at the 2001 MTV Movie Awards and Breakthrough Female Performance.
After becoming a bigger actress because of her role in Scary Movie, Anna went on to take part in May. This movie was released in 2002 and she played the role of a lesbian colleague of a traumatized young lady. After premiering at the Sundance Film Festival, this movie was released in a couple of theaters. She did not stop at May. She starred in The Hot Chick. In this movie, she acted as a teenage girl that had to deal with her mind being swapped with that of a criminal. This movie was commercially successful. It, however, was not as commercially successful as Scary Movie.
Anna’s Personal Life
There is a lot of attention on Anna’s life as an actress. Not a lot, however, is known about her personal life. She got married in 2004 to Ben Indra after they dated for 5 years. The couple met in 1999 won a movie set and hit it off. This marriage lasted only four years as Anna wanted a divorce three years into the marriage. She gave her reason as irreconcilable differences. The divorce process included her paying $900,000 to Ben Indra. She also had to give him access to some property and royalties.
While the divorce process was still on, Anna went ahead to get breast implants. Although people link these implants to her divorce process, she stated otherwise. In an interview she had with The New Yorker in 2011, Faris revealed that putting on a padded bra while playing a Playboy bunny made her feel sexy and this influenced her decision to get breast implants. The actress also claimed that her breast implants had nothing to do with her career.
A year after getting divorced, Anna Faris got married to fellow actor Chris Pratt. They met in 2007 in Los Angeles and began dating not too long after. They got engaged in 2008 and were married on the 9th of July 2009. Their wedding was a small one and took place in Bali, Indonesia. This marriage produced a son in 2012. Their son, Jack, was born prematurely. He had to stay in intensive care for one month.
Although Anna and Chris Pratt have a son together, they are no longer married. They got separated in August 2017 and divorced in December 2017. Their divorce process was finalized in October 2018.
