I still get requests to add the usual “free sites” to Adult Everything. I’m looking at these sites and I begin thinking like Google thinks. How does this site improve my index? What is this site providing that is unique? Frankly 99% of the submissions are the same old same old kind of site. Free sites don’t update, it’s just build and forget. The main purpose is just to send the surfer off to the sponsor. While this method used to make money, it’s not going to work anymore. TGP’s are good because they have categories (unless they’re already niche tgp’s) and they update with new galleries daily. This keeps people coming back for more. Blogs are great and Google loves them. Even link lists have their place, but only if they list quality instead of quantity. So in closing, create quality sites that update and gain loyal visitors. Your main goal should be to get people to subscribe to your rss feed or to bookmark your site.

SEO is an ever changing game, what is said today will not be valid a year from now, but with google’s recent SERP changes, it seems that 1 page made-for-affiliates sites aren’t ranking too well anymore. Seems to me that google loves big sites. In other words, it may be easier to rank for “red hot widgets” on largeoldsite.com/red-hot-widgets.html than on a one page site red-hot-widgets.com.
I still remember when Google was nothing more than a college kid project. When they were nothing than a small blip on the radar. Amazing how far they have come, though it’s not surprising really. They did it right and they’ve done it well.
I believe one of the reasons they have jumped past th competition is the fact that they embraced everyone, including advertisers and webmasters. Look at Yahoo, they pretty much blew off webmasters when they started charging for adding sites, not to mention there was no guarantee you’d be listed. The fact that charged $600 a site for adult sites was just plain stupid. I still can’t believe they didn’t get sued. My opinion is that it left a bad taste in the mouth of a good segment of surfers, webmasters are surfers too. Surfers who might be happy to recommend a new but friendly search engine.
How many tools do the other ad networks provide for their advertisors? What about better pricing? Better pricing that brings in a larger number of the little guys.
Not only does Google offer great advertising tools for their webmasters, they also are happy and willing to help your business do even better with Anaylitics and Website Optimizer. Have you use either? Shame on you! To sweeten the pot, they give it all away for free! What better way to get folks using your services then to give them away?
Every step they seemed to go and offer more than the competition. Funny how the other e-mails services are now offering much larger e-mail boxes, only AFTER Google did it first.
Much can be learned from how Google rose to power. What will you learn?
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last month or two, or you do not own an adult site, you might have heard or seen with your own eyes what was thought to be a major dance by search giant google. It appears to have only affected adult related websites, as far as we know. Many porn destinations losing a good portion of their golden google traffic over night, without much of hint of any coming back over time. It looks as though searches that in the past showed adult results, now list trusted non-adult sites first.
Of course there are many theories from google getting greedy (have’nt figured that one out yet), to google being more family friendly. There is nothing wrong with being more family friendly, but with the fact that they already have a safe search setting, that does’nt totally make sense.
I wonder if it is just another way for google to provide relevant results to the surfer. Lets face it, google does’nt care if we get their traffic or how much we get, their end goal is and always will be, serving up the best results to the surfer. Is that not how they got to the place they are in the first place? If you stop to think about it, surfers searching for “lesbian”, are not all looking for porn. But many people have noted that refined or more defined searches are bringing up the right porn results. It “seems” the surfer needs to convince google they are looking for porn before they are served up porn related results.
If this theory is true, it’s sounds like it is to some extent, there could be some good news for porn slingers, it could mean more targeted porn traffic? Maybe we could even see better ratios? So far this month, my sales are not that far off and it’s not just rebills holding sales up, so might be okay.
