Police hunt nappy-clad man who pesters women
LONDON (Reuters) - Police said on Monday they were searching for a man wearing just a nappy who approaches women late at night and asks: "Are there any baby changing facilities around here?"

Cleveland police said the latest incident occurred around 11 p.m. on Sunday when he surprised a women walking her dog in a play area in Eaglescliffe, near Middlesbrough.

Police said no one had been assaulted by the man but described his behaviour as bizarre and a cause for concern.

"There have been several reports of him having been seen in Eaglescliffe dressed only in a nappy and we are keen to trace him and speak to him," police said.

Plumber takes a leak, doesn't fix it
LONDON (Reuters) - A British plumber was fined and given a community service order Tuesday after being captured on hidden cameras urinating into a vase in a customer's attic and pouring the contents into the central heating system.

Roy Williams, 47, was caught in the act by trading standards officers who had rented the house in Leatherhead in southern England and rigged it with cameras as part of a sting operation to check on tradesmen.

The plumber had been called out to fix a simple fault but instead missed this and charged 203 pounds for unnecessary work, Steve Playle of Surrey trading standards told Reuters.

Williams then urinated into a vase, poured the urine into the hot water tank and rinsed the vase in the cold water tank.

The plumber denied the charges, claiming he had a medical condition which meant he needed the toilet regularly and had been overcome by the sound of running water.

He was sentenced to 150 hours community service by Guildford Crown Court on charges of deception and making false trades descriptions, and was ordered to pay 3,778 pounds in fines and costs incurred cleaning the water tanks.

Cops Find Nude Man Looking for Gump's Home
LITTLEVILLE, Ala. - A 26-year-old vagrant was charged with indecent exposure after police found him standing naked in a cornfield chewing on a cob near a country club. "He said he wanted to see the house where Forrest Gump lived," said Police Chief William Nale.

Gump is the fictional character in a novel by Alabama author Winston Groom that became a hit movie.

The Littleville police chief declined to release the man's name Tuesday but said his family lives in Michigan and he had been in a California institution earlier this year. After his arrest, the man was taken for a mental evaluation.

He was spotted Monday morning near twin Pines Country Club.

"He was standing in a cornfield, picking the corn and eating it raw," Nale said. "He didn't have anything on, not even his shoes. He was as naked as the day he was born."

Authorities said the man was taken into custody without any trouble.

"I asked him where his clothes were and he said he got hot (Sunday night), took them off and laid them on the railroad tracks and then couldn't remember where they were," Nale said.

The suspect told authorities that he was a homeless drifter following the railroad tracks to south Alabama, where he thought he would find the Gump home.

Police send nude shopper home with warning
BERLIN (Reuters) - German police let a nearly naked shopper go home after she told them she was getting groceries in the nude because she lost a spin the bottle contest, a police spokesman in Cologne said Wednesday.

"We're a tolerant city that is open to the world," said spokesman Burkard Jahn. "She could have been arrested for disturbing the peace, but we decided to let her go home with a verbal warning to dress appropriately next time."

The 35-year-old Cologne woman entered the 24-hour shop at 4 a.m. wearing nothing but an unbuttoned jeans jacket, Jahn said. He said police decided to let her go because few people and presumably no small children saw her at that time of day.

    Skinny-Dipping Rescuers Also Need Rescue
BULL RUN, W.Va. - In the end, they emerged unscathed — and unclothed. But 50 skinny-dippers who decided to take a dead-of-night swim in the rushing Cheat River got a bit more than they bargained for.

Dozens of people had set up camp at a popular party spot called Bull Run, awaiting the start of the All Good Music Festival nearby. About 3:20 a.m. Thursday, dozens peeled off their clothes and jumped into the swift-moving water near the mouth of Little Sandy Creek.

Authorities say one man apparently had a seizure, and another rushed to his aid. The seizure victim floated to shore, but the would-be rescuer became trapped on a rock, said Masontown Volunteer Fire Chief Dan Luzier.

Firefighters set up a rescue effort with boats and ropes, but the campers — many of whom had just been at the Rainbow Family gathering in southern West Virginia — thought the response was too slow.

They grabbed fire department equipment and scrambled, still naked, to save their friend. Luzier said they lost some equipment and got another man stuck.

It took about two hours, but firefighters eventually plucked the two men from the water using ropes.

"Doing a swift-water rescue at that time of night is really tough," Luzier said. "We lost some equipment, but we saved two lives. These things usually don't turn out that good."
